Why do people pre judge so harshly?

Like a guy said when someone scratch their heads while talking it means that theyre lying. I scratch my head cuz its itchy so does that mean im a liar? A person today just judge me completely on how my avatar looks. He thought I was a mean person, idk I think im nice :/.
