Corporate world-related drama. Need advice please!?
I am on a committee that meets every year to discuss programs that our company is going to roll out for the next year (meaning product combinations that will be advertised). I attend this meeting every year, however this year I am not being allowed to attend because my boss and his boss will conveniently be at the out-of-town location for another meeting, so they plan on extending their stay and representing our company at the meeting. Well, this upsets me because I am the one who is on the committee and works with the comittee on the programs. Not to mention the fact that all my boss would have to pay for is airfare...the OTHER company pays for everything else. There isn't a lot of room at my company to move "up", so things like this keep me motivated to stay in this job. Not letting me go to the meeting is like a slap in the face and makes me question what I'm doing here. Anyway, my question is...am I over-reacting? How should I handle this? Forget about it or talk to my boss?
