How many flakes are in one bale of hay?

That depends on the size of the bale. Bales usually weigh anywhere from 35 lbs to 120 lbs, where I live. A flake usually weighs about 5 lbs, so you can do the math for that. Flakes do vary in weight, though, so keep that in mind. Some bales are baled tighter than others, so the flakes are more compact and weigh more. Hope that helps you out.
