Sediment as a resource?

im doing a project for my aquatic science cl. my teacher gave me the topic of sediment as a resource. i asked him to explain and he just said sediment as a resource, meaning oil gas etc.. im still not completely sure what i should be looking for since everything i search isnt sediment being a resource. id apperciate if someone could maybe give me a site or some info on this topic. please and thank you kindly!
